55-logo-1238778054361This weeks nets will continue to run on alternate repeaters due to difficulties with the LARC machine.  The Wednesday night net will run at 20:00 on the Baldwin 147.180 machine.  It will run again at 20:30 on the WX4TC/W4TL 145.310 machine with a negative offset and pl tone of 123.0.  Feel free to check in to both nets to help us test the coverage of both machines and practice your ability to commmunicate on multiple machines.  The Baldwin machine works great for North Hall and areas East of Hall County.  The TRI-County machine is great for South Hall and the North Metro area.

Our digital net this week will run on Thursday, 25 February at 19:00 hours on the TRI-County WX4TC/W4TL 145.310 machine for the first session.  Session two will run at 19:30 on the 147.075 (GARS) repeater.  Come join us as we spread the love for NBEMS with our North Metro affiliates in Jackson, Barrow and Gwinnett Counties.  Time permitting, we will send one file up on the N4DME machine in Toccoa following the GARS event.  We want to thank the GARS for inviting us to introduce NBEMS to their group at their monthly meeting this week.  They have a wonderful new facility down there in the flat lands.

areslogoHall County ARES will be presenting a program on FL-Digi and NBEMS at the Gwinnett County ARES meeting this Tuesday at 19:30.  The meeting is held at the Gwinnett County Emergency Operations Center.  The address is 800 High Hope Road in Lawrenceville. There is limited parking at the front of the building. We park on the side of the building in the fenced in parking area.  147.075 + 82.5 tone for talk in. Their website is http://www.GwinnettARES.org for more information.  We encourage all interested Hall ARES members and any amateur interested in emcomm to attend.

WEEKLY NET REMINDER:
Our Wednesday Night check in net will continue as usual but we will be using the Baldwin 147.180 machine at 20:00 hours.  For our southern area members that cannot hit that repeater, we will run a second net at 20:30 on the WX4TC/W4TL 145.310 machine with a negative offset and pl tone of 123.0.  Feel free to check into both nets to help us test the coverage of both machines.

Our Thursday night digital net will be running twice also.  We will start on the WX4TC/W4TL repeater at 19:00 and then move to the N4DME repeater in Toccoa at approximately 19:30.  This machine is at 147.330 with a positive offset and pl tone of 127.3.

Hall ARES is blessed to have a good relationship with several repeater owners and we are using the fact that the LARC machine is currently having difficulty as a good excuse to test these other machines.  We encourage ARES and non ARES hams to please participate in all of our nets.  Even if you are not yet using 2 meter digital modes, check in and at least listen to what we are doing.  It might just peak an interest.

SKYWARN EVENT/TEST....
For all of our registered members:
We are now running a live drill/test of our new Skywarn Spotting tool.  We are not activating a radio net.  If that happens, we will use the Baldwin repeater which is 147.180 with a positive offset and no tone.  You may want to monitor this repeater for curiosities sake.  Please take a spin of our new online spotting tool by just viewing the spotter map or by logging in and submitting your reports.  Remember to keep you reports updated as conditions change.
Thanx,
Michael

URGENT-URGENT-URGENT
All Hall County Amateurs,
Both LARC Gainesville repeaters seem to be down.  We have rolled back to the Baldwin 147.180 machine (positive offset and no pl tone) as our primary repeater till the problem gets corrected.  We have offered to help them fix the problem within our abilities but have not gotten any response.
Please go to our frequencies section of the website to see all of our alternate frequencies.  Our net last night succeeded even in the midst of a repeater issue.  If we have issues crop up with the Balwin machine, just keep rolling down the list of frequencies we have currently posted.  The list may see some changes later today with new machines being added so be sure to check back.
Michael
