The 18 March 2010 net will run on both the Gainesville LARC 146.670 machine and the Gwinnett GARES 2 meter repeater. The first session will run at 19:00 hours and the second will run at 20:00. We will be experimenting with macros and how to use them. Please go to our section on NBEMS under the resource tab and look at the tutorial on building and using macros. Without little foreknowledge, you will be a bit overwhelmed using keyboard to keyboard chat tools. This exercise is guaranteed to be a bit frusatrating the first attempt or two but is a great skill to hone.
The 4 March 2010 Digital Net will run its first session at 19:00 on the Gainesville 146.670 LARC macchine and second session on the Gwinnett/GARES 2 meter machine at 20:00. Tonights exercise will focus on using the FLICS add-on for FL-Digi which allows us to send ICS-213's from desk top to desk top quickly and with 100% copy. You can find all the necessary software on oour NBEMS install page. We look forward to seeing you on the waterfall.
As an aside, Hall ARES is looking for additional members to join our administrative team. Even if your not a highly experienced ham, if you posess skills in other areas that we can utilize, please contact the Emergency Coordinator. We are looking for people who have capabilities in finances, grants, administration, web development & content along with others. If you think you have a skill, including radio communications, to offer the group we are very interested in integrating you into our operation. A group is only as good as its leadership and administrative teams. Even the most talented professional athletes can't pull the entire organization along without a full support structure. We look forward to having YOU join our team.
